The coursework contained in this training is derived from the research of Laurie C. Miller, M.D. and is contained, in more detail, in her book "The Handbook of International Adoption Medicine", 2005. Dr. Miller is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Tufts University School of Medicine and Director of the International Adoption Clinic, The Floating Hospital for Children, New England Medical Center.
AE continues to recruit members to its Advisory Committee to provide guidance and technical expertise in the short and long-term effects of early childhood institutionalization on child health and early development and the outcomes of international adoption.
